Alexandria Commission for the Art’s 40th Anniversary Exhibition

Smith was honored to be invited to curate a piece for an exhibition commemorating the 40th anniversary of the City of Alexandria’s Commission for the Arts, celebrating the impact the organization has made to enrich public art in the community. Organized by the City of Alexandria, the exhibition provided each current commissioner the opportunity to select a local artist to be featured for four months in the lobby of the Hilton Alexandria Mark Center Hotel. It was a privilege in Smith’s role as commissioner to collaborate with talented fine artist Lauren Brumbach and present her work, Thirty Pumpkins, to the community.
